Congratulations, Anaeli!

Here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, staff and our volunteers — all Defenders of Potential — strive to help our Littles achieve, among other things, educational success.  That’s why we are so happy to see our Littles (and former Littles) graduate high school.  And for Anaeli, that success is being spotlighted on a billboard!

Former LS Anaeli was matched with Big Sister Joan Vogel, while here at BBBS of Berks. For a look at their match, take a look at this video https://youtu.be/trF_3fhFIJQ from about nine years ago.  Although their match was closed, Anaeli and Joan continue to stay in contact.  In contacting the agency about Anaeli and the billboard, former BS Joan said she could not be prouder adding “I just might be the loudest person applauding her at Santander.”  Joan means Santander Arena, where Anaeli will attend her graduation ceremony this evening (June 6, 2023).  We agree, Joan, and also want to say CONGRATULATIONS, ANAELI!

BS Joan also wrote, “There is not a day that goes by in which I don’t reflect on my involvement as a volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters with fond memories and a sense of joy and accomplishment.”  Those words are appreciated, Joan.  We’d also like to congratulate you for being a part in Anaeli’s success and thank you for being a defender of her potential.
