PA EITC participation renewed
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, PA, has been renewed as an EITC-eligible organization. Pennsylvania's Education Improvement Tax Credit program allows EITC-approved companies to donate a large portion of certain state taxes to one or more EITC-eligible agencies. In our case, EITC donations help fund our school-based SMART (Students & Mentors Achieving Results Together) program at Conrad Wieser, Oley Valley, and Hamburg Area School Districts. in those districts, SMART utilizes high school volunteers as Bigs. Those High School Bigs earn service-learning hours that they need to graduate, while helping Littles in their district improve academics, self-esteem, socialization skills, and more. For more information on the EITC program and how your company can become EITC-approved, go to the State Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) website. We'd like to once again thank all of the companies that provided EITC donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2021:
