Having FUN to HELP KIDS! That’s Bowl For Kids’ Sake

We need YOU, because we need teams!

Day #1 of the 40th Annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake is just two weeks away!  We still have room on April 19th at Hiester Lanes in Reading.  That weekend, BFKS moves to Berks Lanes in Sinking Spring — and again, we have plenty of room for teams, teams, and more teams!

Register your team today by calling the agency at (610) 373-5544 or register on-line at https://give.classy.org/BerksBFKS2022.  We ask each team to raise a minimum of $300.  You get the free game of bowling plus food/snacks/refreshments.  Each bowler gets a BFKS event t-shirt and a Thank You envelope with some surprises.  Individual bowlers raising at least $150 are eligible for our Grand Prize drawing of $500 worth of Boscov’s gift cards.

Door prizes will be given out each hour.  We will also have our Backet Auction with all kinds of great prizes, and the BIG Raffle.  This year, the BIG Raffle includes our usual ‘Barrow of Spirits plus a weekend getaway to Vermont and a foursome at the Berkshire Country Club.  But wait!  There’s more!  This year, the BIG Raffle also includes seven (7) chances to win autographed Philadelphia Eagles memorabilia (6 footballs and a helmet).

We need YOU, because our Littles need you!

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and – as I am sure you are aware – we are still fighting our way forward from the pandemic setbacks.  A successful BFKS helps us keep our services FREE-OF-CHARGE to our Littles and their families – like Little Brother Ariel, a 9-year-old from Reading who wants to be an architect when he grows up.  LB Ariel would benefit greatly from having a positive, out-going adult role model in his life to stand with him to defend potential.  We have thirty-one (31) Littles on our waiting list right now who could benefit from a Big like Little Brother Rusty has.  LB Rusty has been matched with Big Brother Dudley since December 2019 – and their match has continued to thrive and grow since then.  They enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and going to the gym together.  They spend time on academics and home work too.  LB Rusty said he is thankful to have someone like BB Dudley in his life who he can trust and talk to about anything.

These are just two examples of the good work that YOU do in helping Big Brothers Big Sisters provide our quality-driven programs.  We thank you all – but our work is never done, is it?  So let’s all give this a BIG push for all of our Littles.  Remember, Bowl For Kids’ Sake is not about bowling…it’s about having FUN to HELP KIDS!
