BFKSEITCLOCED…whaaaaattt?

What does BFKSEITCLOCED mean, you may ask? Well, it means a very exciting week for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, PA! Let’s take that apart to see what it all means…shall we?

First part…BFKS. Tuesday was our first of three bowling days for the 42nd Annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake. Twelve teams plus two Littles Teams were bowling for strikes at Hiester Lanes — but as we all know by now, it isn’t about bowling really; rather, it’s about HAVING FUN to HELP KIDS. Next stop, Bowl For Kids’ Sake heads to Berks Lanes on Saturday and Sunday.

Second part…the EITC of BFKSEITCLOCED. Our appreciation to Orrstown Bank for their contribution to BBBS of Berks, as part of the PA Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Orrstown Bank stopped by yesterday with a $5,000 to help support our SMART (Students & Mentors Achieving Results Together) program in five school districts in Berks County.

Part three…LOC. Two years ago, we paid off our mortgage for our property at 303 Windsor Street in Reading. On Tuesday, we were at Fulton Bank to make our final payment on the related Line of Credit — which means we are DEBT-FREE.

And the final two letters of BFKSEITCLOCED. Well, all of this exciting stuff happens as our Executive Director celebrates a personal milestone. On Monday, our ED celebrated 25 years of service to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, PA.
