Alumni Week - Big Brother Jason Hornberger — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County PA

“It was one of the best feelings in my life. Jason was truly a great role model. To have someone you can count on, there’s no better feeling.” Those are the words of former Little Brother Rene, speaking about his Big Brother Jason Hornberger — our Alumni Week honoree today!

BB Jason — who was matched twice (LB Eric, also) — actually has a multi-level experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County. Yes, he was matched — but BB Jason was also a COUL (Club Of Unmatched Littles) Big when not matched. BB Jason is also a former member of our Board of Directors (serving two years at Board President). When plans were set in motion to rehab our previously empty Carriage House, BB Jason took the lead — serving as co-chair of a mini-capital campaign that raised the $250,000+ to turn it into the Carriage House Activities Center.

And Jason’s involvement didn’t stop there. You’ll typically see Jason at Bowl For Kids’ Sake and our Jason Claudfelter Golf Invitational. In addition, Jason still serves as a community member of our Building Committee — which oversees the maintenance and improvement of our agency facilities.
