For our Throwback Thursday today, December 9th, we are going back 20 years to December 6, 2001! The Littles at our Holiday Party 2001 sure did keep the Youth Activities Coordinator (now, Executive Director) Jim Smith going back then! Yeppers, that’s Jim Smith on the left, upper corner. Asked if he could still do the limbo with the best of them these days, Jim’s response was “only if I can be the one holding the limbo stick instead of one of them trying to go under it.”
November 18, 2021 — One week from today, we will celebrate Thanksgiving — so for our Throwback Thursday, we go back 10 years (November 2011) — when our friends at Kutztown University invited COUL and our One-To-One matches for a Thanksgiving meal and some fun activities.
November 11, 2021 — Yes, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County is getting into the Throwback Thursday thing…and we picked a good day to start it out: Throwback Thursday meets Veterans Day!
Twenty years ago (2001), our Teen program participants took a trip down to Annapolis, Maryland — for a tour of the Naval Academy before enjoying a football game with the Midshipmen.
And while we are at it, thank you to all of our nation’s veterans today!
