Thank you, Bethany!

Today, we say farewell to Program Administrator Bethany Redmond-Baez — and we want to thank her for her 8+ years of service to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, and to the tireless work she did over the years to defend potential in our Littles.

Bethany came to BBBS of Berks in February 2015.  Her dedication and motivation guided the staff through some major changes in operations including — but not limited to — BBBSA Standards changes, implementation of (not one, but two) on-line information management systems, and expansion of services.  Her contributions to the agency, her support of our Bigs, and her dedication to our Littles was immeasurable.

All of us here at BBBS of Berks wish you well in your future endeavors, Bethany!

With that said, there are some staff changes in our immediate future here at BBBS of Berks.  The first one, of course, is to find who will take up the roll as first-line supervisor to our dedicated staff.  And for that we didn’t have to look far.  We take this time to congratulate Liz Werner!  Liz is moving from her current position as a Casework Manager 2, promoted to replace Bethany as our Program Administrator.

Liz came to our agency in August 2019, hired to run our SMART program at Conrad Weiser School District and — of course — to make & supervise matches in our community-based One-To-One program.  She was promoted to Casework Manager 2 last year and now takes that extra step forward.  Liz has some big shoes to fill, but we have every confidence in her abilities to help move our agency forward.

Liz will continue her duties in support of our Conrad Weiser SMART program in the short-term…that is, until we introduce our newest member of the BBBS team in the near future, so stay tuned for more.
