Our Rising Star!

Congratulations to Fleetwood High School Big Megan Makovsky!  Megan was one of only ten (10) across the nation selected as a BBBSA Rising Star!

Megan will be attending Wilkes University this Fall for their Pharmacy program.  Besides being a Big Sister for our SMART program at Fleetwood, Megan is part of her school’s National Honor Society, Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America, orchestra, chorus, Stage Crew, Library Aides, tennis, and Rho Kappa.

Minor League Baseball (MiLB) and MiLB Charities last week announced the ten high school students nationwide who will receive a $500 college stipend as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Rising Star Students program.  The award honors high-achieving students involved in a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentorship program who are preparing for their “call-up” to college.

The ten winners include high school seniors from nine Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies.  Each honoree will receive a check and Minor League Baseball-themed prizes.  Megan will be honored at an upcoming Reading Fightin’ Phils home game.
