School is particularly difficult for our kids these days. No matter how they go to school — virtual, in-person, or a hybrid — our Littles need the tools to succeed. Thanks to the generosity of a number of people, they will have them.
Diamond Credit Union held a school-supplies drive last month as part of the United Way Day of Caring. Yesterday (October 28th), Youth Activities Coordinator Shannon Farrow and Casework Manager Liz Werner conducted a drive-thru event at the Diamond Credit Union branch in Wyomissing, so that some of our families could pick up the supplies.
Today (October 29th), another group stepped forward to help. We thank Pamela Gockley and The Camel Project for providing additional backpacks filled with school supplies for our Littles.
We will be holding a second day in the coming weeks for our families who were unable to make it to yesterday’s event.
Thank you to all who helped. Together, we are DEFENDERS OF POTENTIAL for all of our Little Brothers and Little Sisters.
