Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, Pa is a non-profit 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) agency dedicated to offering the highest form of mentoring services to at-risk children throughout the City of Reading and Berks community. All program services are free and supervised by a highly trained and dedicated professional staff focused on safety and success!

The mission of the agency is to foster positive and measurable growth for at-risk youth including a strengthened sense of self-worth, development of character, and improved relationships and performance at home, in school, and throughout the community. This mission is accomplished through professionally directed mentoring programs utilizing carefully screened and trained volunteers.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, Pa was established in 1968. The agency is directly affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and was awarded the highest professional standing obtainable (score of 100% on 5-year national evaluation – Nov. 2001).

We moved to our current location (303 Windsor St.), in May of 2001 after an extensive planning process conducted by our volunteer Board of Directors. The building acquisition was unanimous and included pledged financial donations of close to $50,000 from our Board!

With close to 5,000 square feet, off-street parking, and a separate building to be used in the future for COUL Activities (Carriage House in need of restoration), this will hopefully be the final location for our agency (we actually moved 4 times from 1988 - 2000 due to agency growth, etc.).

All weekly COUL group-mentoring activities & TEEN programs originate at our 303 Windsor Street location.

Normal Office Hours are: M - F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with numerous evening and weekend appointments scheduled.
