The 26th Annual

BOWL FOR KIDS' SAKE

ended on a very successful note!

The 26th Annual Bowl For Kids' Sake event was held on April 5th & 6th, 2008,  at Bowl-O-Rama in Exeter...sponsored by

Bachman's Roofing, Building, and Remodeling and Quadrant Engineering!

Other sponsors include:  Sovereign Bank and Giorgio Foods.

There were 128 teams participating in this year's event, led by Sovereign Bank (21 teams).  Participating bowlers combined to raise nearly $43,000 to help the agency serve at-risk youth from throughout Berks County. Bowlers went after those pins for one free game, then enjoyed a free lunch (also with the help of some local businesses...see list below).  Individuals who raised at least $75 were eligible for a GRAND PRIZE.  This year's GRAND PRIZE is a 19-inch HD/LCD television with a DVD Home Theater (donated by Stereo Barn).

This year's event also marked the successful return of the All-Star ChallengeMembers of Berks County's All-Star Men's Bowling Team (the Lift Incorporated team) competed against Berks County's Junior (Boys) All-Star Bowling Team.  League bowlers from across the county contributed $2,390 as part of the All-Star Challenge, and became eligible to win prizes including a 19-inch HD/LCD TV, a DVD player, or an iPod.  Our appreciation to the two All-Star teams!!

A number of businesses also helped out by becoming a Corporate Sponsor. Several levels of sponsorship included: Assisting Sponsor ($500), Major Sponsor ($1,000), T-Shirt Sponsor ($2,500), or Primary Sponsor ($5,000).  All Corporate Sponsors get a free advertisement in oru Souvenir Event Book; their company listed on over 500 color BFKS T-shirts; and are welcome to display a company banner at the two-day BFKS event.  This year's Corporate Sponsors -- thus far -- include:  East Penn Manufacturing/Deka, National Penn Bank, Graham Company, Enersys, Beard Miller Company, RM Palmer, UGI, the Governor Mifflin Education Association, Harleysville National Bank, and Wiring By Wall, Inc.

Businesses and individuals also helped by sponsoring a Littles Team.  Their sponsorships enabled a team of Little Brothers/Sisters to enjoy the fun-filled day at Bowl-O-Rama Our thanks to those companies who have already stepped forward to sponsor a team of Littles. See list below

BFKS wouldn't be the same without plenty of Giorgio pierogies to go around!  A member of the "Lunch Bunch" brings out a fresh batch for the bowlers.

A couple of the 128 teams who participated take a break for a photo op.  If you missed out on the fun this year at Bowl-O-Rama, there's always next year!
